Privacy Policy

Akra LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates Akra HQ, a mobile and web application that subcontractors use to dispatch crews, track time and manage equipment (the "App"). This policy explains what we collect, how we use it and the choices you have.
Who controls your account
Akra HQ accounts are created by invitation from a company that uses the App (your "Company"), usually your employer. Your Company decides who has access and what role each person has, and it can see the work information described below. We process that information to provide the App to your Company.
Information we collect
• Account information: name, email address, phone number, company, role, trade and classification.
• Work information you or your Company enter: jobs and job site details (addresses, gate and parking instructions, site contact names and phone numbers), crew assignments, timesheet entries and hours, equipment records, meter readings and bulletins.
• Notebook: private tasks and notes you create, visible only to you.
• Voice-to-text: when you use the microphone button, your phone's built-in speech recognition service (provided by Apple or Google) converts your speech to text, and that service may process the audio on its own servers. We store only the resulting text, not the audio.
• Device information: device type, operating system and the push notification token used to send you alerts.
We do not collect your device's location, and the App does not currently use third-party analytics.
Text messages
Text messages are optional. If you opt in on your account screen, we use your phone number to send job updates from your Company, such as assignments, reminders and request status. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes, and your text opt-in and consent are never shared with third parties.
How we use information
• To provide the App: dispatching crews, showing job details, calculating hours and overtime, and tracking equipment.
• To send push notifications such as job assignments, reminders and bulletins.
• To keep the App secure, prevent misuse and fix problems.
Who sees your information
• People in your Company, based on their role. For example, the office and PMs see submitted hours; crew members see their own job and crew.
• Service providers that run the App for us: Google Firebase (sign-in, database and hosting) and Expo (push notification delivery). Data is stored in the United States.
• Authorities, when required by law or to protect our legal rights.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is limited by role on our servers. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information by emailing support@getakra.com. Because your Company manages your account, we may involve them in the request. You can turn off push notifications in your device settings.
Account deletion and retention
If your Company deactivates your account, you lose access right away, and the hours, assignments and other work records you contributed stay in your Company's account under your name.
You can request deletion of your account on the Akra HQ Support page or by emailing support@getakra.com. When an account is deleted, we remove your profile, sign-in account and private notebook. Timesheet, assignment and equipment records your Company needs for payroll, legal or business purposes may be kept with your name removed, for as long as your Company keeps its account.
Age requirement
The App is for adults (18 and older) working in professional settings. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
We may update this policy and will tell you about significant changes in the App or by email.
